God's Glory In A Fulfilled Calling

To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Thessalonians 1:11, 12)

Obedience to the gospel of our Lord Jesus is a matter of life and death. A person's disobedience only shows that he/ she doesn't really know God.

Obedience to God is not a work of the will. We can't create it on our own. We are people of disobedience to start with (1 Corinthians 2:14). That is why we cry unto God for his grace to make us worthy of his calling and fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, (2 Thessalonians 1:11).

God is the reason why we live or die.

We cry unto God for the strength to obey so that we may not boast (John 15:16, Ephesians 2:8, 9). We cry unto God for the power to follow him 'so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.'

God is the reason why we live or die (1 Corinthians 10:31, Philippians 1:21). God is the reason for our prayers.
