The Reason for the Season

And the angel said to them, "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. —Luke 2:10

Jesus is the good news. Jesus is the gospel that we preach. Any view or celebration of Christmas that does not involve Jesus misses the whole point of the season.

Jesus is the reason for the season. He is the most awaited fulfillment of God's promise, that he will save his people through an everlasting covenant.

For sinners like you and me. This is really a good news. We are natural sinners and do not submit to God's law. Apostle Paul says we cannot submit to God's law.

The only way we can stand in front of a holy and righteous God without being consumed by the fire of his holiness is by having a righteousness that is not our own, but is counted to us by the perfect mediator, the Son of God.

He lived a perfect obedient life we should have lived and died a horrible death that we deserve, in our place.

He didn't remained dead. He rose again on the third day as a proof that he is who he say he is, the Son of God.

Jesus is the good news. Jesus is the gospel that we preach.

He now then offers forgiveness and reconciliation to God to anyone who would come to him, repent of his/ her sins, receive him as their personal Lord and Savior.

That is the fullness of the good news. It didn't stopped in the manger. It didn't stop in the cross and most importantly it didn't stopped in the grave. He is alive!

May we see this season with love and joy at the coming of the Son of God, Jesus the Messiah.

Lord, may you open our hearts to the true joy of your coming. You came to seek and save the lost. Thank you that you found me and saved me.
